Spot Light On...
Got Golf?
Donna Berty, Select Long Term Care
Susan Davis, Wells Fargo
Co-Chairs for the
Ways and Means Committee
|

|
All of you know by now that our new Ways and Means Co-Chairmen,
Susan Davis and Donna Berty, are stepping up the pace for solicitation
of sponsors for the 2007 EWI Scholastic Classic Golf Tournament,
to be held June 1, 2007 at the Kissing Camels Golf Club. We
want everyone to think GOLF as we enter into the New Year. Already
we have several generous commitments from member firms and representatives. But
the goal this year is to see how close we can come to 100% participation
(currently at 36%) by all member firms. In addition, Pepsi/Lane
Distributing has challenged us with matching up to $5000 of cash
commitments from other firms. This can assure we meet our
goal of net profit $15,000 for non-traditional scholarships and
scholarships for a few of our own members to attend the 2007 LCAM
in Houston, Texas.
Unlike years past, we are limiting the number of players to the
first 72 golfers registered, so be ready when the registration
cards go out in January to sign up your teams.
We would like to say a special thanks to these sponsors who have
confirmed their commitments:
Pepsi/ Lane Distributing, Wallace
Vision, Wells Fargo Bank, Girl
Scouts, Select Hospital, Stanley
Steamer, Daniels Chevy, La
Casita Patio Cafes, Art of Design, World
Savings, Accent Photo, B & L
Carpet, Woodford Manufacturing, Aqua
Prima Water, H&R
Block, Phoenix
Consulting, Orbit Promotions, Benefit
Resources, OpTech Laboratories, The
Cool Company, Dr. Ann Carlisle, Lynn
Severson Interiors, Allstate Insurance, Suess Agency
For all of those representing the larger companies, we are looking
for Bachelor level (two at $1000 each), Associate level (multiple
at $500 each), Golf Cart Sponsor (first come at $1000), and the
Putting Green Challenge (only one at $500). All cash donations
are welcomed, and we still need 6.5 "hole'" sponsors ($300 per
hole or share a hole for $150 for each of two sponsors). We
would really appreciate any door prize and "Goody Bag" items as
well. Please
see Susan or Donna if you have questions; they will be the elves
in the red hats: Got Golf? |

President's Message ...
Onward and Upward!
by Kathy Wallace,
WallaceVISION, LLC |
 |
Happy New Year, EWIs! Hope everyone enjoyed our lunch at the Broadmoor,
which is always special during the holidays! Thanks to Linda
Williamson, Dianne Loper and Valerie Blankenship for putting
that together.
Everyone have a safe and fun-filled holiday season.
We can all relax a bit in January when the craziness is over.
Plan on participating
in our January meeting at the Gazette as we discuss marketing
and promotional issues - it's always good to review and get new
ideas
at the beginning of the year!
And don't forget to make plans to
participate in the golf tournament in June. This will be our
one fundraiser for the year for our
scholarship programs, and we are shooting for 100% participation
by EWi firms.
See you soon!
