GOT MONEY Workshop - Girls Scouts of Colorado
EWI MONTHLY MEETING
WHEN: WEDNESDAY AUGUST 13, 2008, 5:00 P.M.
EWI is partnering with Girl Scouts of Colorado on August 13 for
a GOT MONEY WORKSHOP that will provide girls ages 11-17 with
critical financial information for succeeding as a child and
as an adult in today's diverse financial landscape. During
this "crash course" taught by local businesswomen
affiliated with EWI, girls will learn how to budget and save,
about loans and lines of credit, how to invest, where to put
your money and other valuable financial 101 concepts.

Debbie Tuzel (Art of Design i.d.) -- Station 1 Budgeting
and Savings. This station will review basic money budgeting
skills,
how to create a savings plan, piggy bank versus savings, income
and expenses,

Joan Taylor (ENT Federal Credit Union) -- Station
2 Where Do I Put My Money? This station will introduce girls
to the basic
types of money accounts such as checking, savings, money market,
certificates of deposit,

Rita Worster (BKD LLP) -- Station 3
Rule of 72, Power of Compounding This station will review putting
money to work, knowing when
to save and when to invest,
Megan McLaughlin (Phoenix Consulting) -- Station 4 Investing
Basics This station will review the difference between stocks/bonds/commodities,
mutual funds, retirement accounts, long term over short tem,
etc.

Brandy Merriam (Presidential Brokerage) -- Station 5 Stock
Market, Bull & Bear markets, NYSE, DJIA This station
will review what investors look at, benchmarks to measure,
risks/rewards,
etc.

Karen Lovett (Pikes Peak Regional Development) -- Station
6 Loans and Credit and Setting Goals. This station will introduce
basic
information about loans for cars, school loans, mortgages,
etc., credit cards (pros & cons), etc., goals for short
term and long term, putting a plan in place, researching.

Davis, Elva Munoz (Wells Fargo Bank) -- Station 7 Online

Most of our parking lots are posted as "Permit Only"-
but all permit enforcement ends daily at 3:30pm, so you will
be able to park in any available spots.

Meeting requirements and RSVP

EWI
Program Coordinators must confirm attendance numbers with
the hotel or other catering company in advance.

No shows are
charged -- we need to have timely RSVPs into
the Sergeant-at-Arms the Friday before the monthly meeting
which
is the second Wednesday of each month.
-
It costs EWI to
pay for those that RSVP and don’t show. Once our numbers
are confirmed with the hotel or other catering company, any
no shows and any
late cancellations must be charged in full.

EWI is required
to pay for all of its registered guests, whether
or not they attend.
