WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 2009 CARE AND SHARE FOOD BANK OF SOUTHERN COLORADO
At the new facility As Southern Colorado's only emergency food bank, Care and Share provides food to 430 agencies. These include human service agencies, disaster services, youth programs, church-run food pantries, senior services, soup kitchens, etc. for distribution.
Did you know that more than 130,000 people in southern Colorado are "food insecure" - meaning they don't know where their next meal is coming from? And did you know that 30% of those people are children, 30% are elderly or disabled and almost 40% come from households with working adults? These are not nameless, faceless people - these are our neighbors, our friends and our co-workers.
Care and Share Food Bank is working hard to bridge the gap between hunger and abundance! Come tour the new 50,000 square foot facility completed in January 2009 and learn more about this amazing organization and the efficient work they do every day to end hunger in southern Colorado.
Care and Share has been voted Best Charity to Support in Colorado Springs and was runner up for Best Community Board to Sit On, Best Non Profit Organization, and Best Up and Coming Business Leader under 40 for its Executive Director and CEO, Nicholas Saccaro.

DIRECTIONS: Going east from Powers on Constitution, it is a right hand
turn onto Preamble. Preamble Point is only a tiny one block long street
but it is about a half mile east of Powers on Constitution.
