AUGUST IS A GREAT MONTH TO DO EWI!!
August is the eighth month of the year, named by the Romans to honor their emperor, Augustus.
August is the height of the summer time in the temperate zone of the Northern Hemisphere.
The longest days of the year is passed, but the hot days remain.
In the northern regions and mountains, cool nights and early frosts lets one know that the summer is about to come to an end.
Colorado became the 38th state, August 1, 1876.

Colorado Springs Chapter EWI MEETING
"REAPING THE HARVEST, A CELEBRATION OF FOOD AND WINE"

Program:  Reaping the Harvest:  A Celebration of Food and Wine!  Come enjoy a summer evening under umbrellas, the twinkle lights on the patio, see spectacular view of Pikes Peak while Janeene Young (wine specialist at Cachet Baskets)describes the wine selection for the summertime buffet of delectable food.  The wine featured will be from Oregon and Washington States.  Come hear about the first organized "Colors of Wine Tour" to the Oregon wine country and top off the evening with an impressive journey of Whole Food Market with samplings and information of our very own local produce and products.  We are preparing some very special surprises for the evening.....and Whole Foods is putting on the ritz as well as offering a discount on purchases just for EWI!  You don't want to miss it!  Hostess for August meeting:  Beth Alexander and Kathy Wallace.

Membership Drive Alert!

We are offering a special incentive to EWI members who bring potential new members as guests to the August Meeting.

Free Dinner for September's meeting to the member who brings the most guests!!

We have lots of categories still to fill and we want to encourage everyone to brainstorm through your circle of influence to enhance and grow EWI's membership!

*Guests should be qualified potential members (not competing with existing memberships) Any questions regarding qualification or possible conflicts should be cleared through membership first.

Meeting requirements and RSVP

  • EWI Program Coordinators must confirm attendance numbers with the hotel or other catering company in advance.

  • No shows are charged -- we need to have timely RSVPs into the Sergeant-at-Arms the Friday before the monthly meeting which is the second Wednesday of each month.

  • It costs EWI to pay for those that RSVP and don’t show. Once our numbers are confirmed with the hotel or other catering company, any no shows and any late cancellations must be charged in full.

  • EWI is required to pay for all of its registered guests, whether or not they attend.
