"Goodwill is More Than a Store"
Wednesday, November 12th, 2008
The EWI meeting for November 12th is member firm night to be held at
Goodwill's new Circle Retail Center. Currently under construction,
the store is located at 2007 South Circle Drive at the corner of Circle
Drive and Janitell, between Harrison High School and McDonalds. The
Donation Center is scheduled to open mid-November, with a tentative
Grand Opening celebration scheduled for Saturday, December 13th. A soft
retail opening is planned 10 days prior to the Grand Opening to work out
any employee training issues.
Getting to the location is easy - exit at Circle from I-25. If you are
traveling from the west on Circle Drive or have exited from I-25,
proceed east on Circle staying in the right lane. Just past the high
school, there is a deceleration lane that will allow you to enter the
property via the right -in turn lane. If you miss the turn, simply
proceed east until the next light at Janitell and turn right. Then, turn
right from Janitell into the driveway. If you are traveling from the
east heading west on Circle, simply turn left on Janitell at the light
and then right into the driveway.
The meal will be will be provided by Garden of the Gods Gourmet.
The program's premise is "Goodwill is more than a store" and will
focus on Goodwill's wide variety of rehabilitation programs. We are not
planning a formal tour of the store, but Goodwill staff members will be
available from 5 p.m. until the start of the meeting to "walk and talk"
interested attendees through the store.
Construction of the store will be complete but we will be furnishing
and filling the store with product. Therefore, we are sorry to say it
will not be possible to shop for any Goodwill treasures at this time. We
would, however, very much appreciate your donations, so feel free to go
through the drive-thru first before parking and entering the store.
Donating is easy, simply follow the signs!
Networking starts at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. and the program
commencing about 6:30 p.m.
See you on Wednesday, November 12th!
