IS EWI MEETING YOUR NEEDS:
- Yes (10 responses with just this comment and nothing else!)
- Yes, I think it's a good organization
- It is hit and miss - programs are either very good or very weak
- Yes, I enjoy the meetings and camaraderie between members
- Sometimes, seemingly we are not as people oriented as previously
- A good portion of the meeting programs are very good, informative and interesting. Enjoy the organization
- 6 on a scale of 1-10
WHAT CAN WE DO DIFFERENTLY?
- Sometimes it is hard to hear the speaker. Would a hand held mike be out of the question? Some meeting rooms are more conducive to our group than others.
- I'd like some upscale places for our meetings. Perhaps country clubs, etc.
- Dunno, I pretty much am happy right now!
- Programs could be more business oriented. "Fluff" can be interspersed through the year, but most of the meetings, in my opinion, should have more guts to them...
- It is a professional womens organization - need to offer programs that address those needs. Feb and April meetings were hard to justify to the Powers that Be...
- I think we still need a good way to integrate new members into the organization.
- Be more sensitive to member needs, and maybe you are and I am not as sensitive as I possibly could be...
- The program portion sometimes gets cut short. I would rather have some of the administrative matters shortened and let the program go longer.
- Just keep the meetings on time and varied like this year and past.
- Start the meeting on time and get out at a decent time.
- Have more personal introductions - assign greeters? Mix up the tables?
- Emphasize supporting member firms
- Have more opportunities to socialize - i.e. silent auction, non-event, without speakers...
WHAT OTHER FIRMS TO INCLUDE:
- This seems covered fairly well
- More minority-owned businesses (more people of color), more diversity
- Aerospace and pharmaceuticals
- Florist, major department stores
- Look at the variety and what it can bring to EWI. More thought on companies that want to join for the esprit de corps and actively participate
- Would like to see more women from corporate firms participate
IDEAS OR REFERRALS:
- Strong speakers
- Maybe a forum, retreat with input from people that have a vision for the organization
GENERAL COMMENTS:
- I once felt several years ago that EWI had gotten too "clickie", but I don't feel that anymore. I enjoy the meetings and the people a lot...
- I've been embarrassed more than once and distracted/irritated many times by groups talking and talking and talking. This isn't just a side comment or two, but separate, lengthy conversations going on through the meetings.....
- Has great potential just needs to stick to the focus of professional development
- Requiring key chairpersons to attend conferences, so that they may be better committee chairs rather than by vote of the most popular person, the chairs are the people that make the difference as to the chapter success...
- Thanks to the board for all of their hard work!
- Keep up the great work!
